Daydream Mezuzah — Handmade by Miriam, Age 11

Hi! I’m Miriam, and this one is called Daydream because the colors remind me of clouds and magic and kind of just letting your brain wander.

First, we paint poured the wood, which is really fun because you never completely know what the paint is going to do. That’s why every part of it looks different.

The shin is made out of resin. We made it ourselves using a mold and poured resin mixed with shiny mica powder into it. I really like how sparkly it turned out.

Then I added the little swirls at the bottom using paper quilling. There is this really cool tool that you put the paper into and then spin it around and around until it makes a little circle. I made a bunch of them in different blues, purples, pinks, and turquoise and put them together at the bottom.

I think it looks sort of dreamy and magical, which is why it became Daydream.

It is made from wood, acrylic paint, resin, mica powder, and paper, and it has been sealed to help protect the artwork.

It fits a scroll up to 4 inches long. Scroll is not included.

For indoor use only.

Because I made this by hand, it might not be completely perfect — but that also means there isn’t another one exactly like it.
